In activities aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion, the role and potential of the private sector are often neglected. Therefore, we believe that encouraging private companies to provide a more receptive environment for employment and career advancement of all individuals, regardless of racial, ethnic, religious, gender, or sexual orientation, as well as other identities, through the improvement of internal policies and practices. All interested organizations, companies, start-ups are invited to join the certification, lobbying, and promotion process and to get involved with intervention or activity proposals! Certification and education services and capacity building of private companies in this domain are provided by our partner Sarajevo Open Center together with other partner organizations. MarketMakers encourages its partners to work on creating better legal solutions, which will provide enhanced conditions for entrepreneurs and workers - as well as to research existing legal frameworks with the aim of improved understanding of the legal framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Besides, we strive to find examples of good practices from the region and EU countries to harmonize the legal framework and develop meaningful advocacy campaigns, which in the long run will result in better conditions, new jobs, and sustainable development! Current activities in this field are implemented by our partner Centre for Policy and Governance, who are looking for the best policy-level solutions for stimulating private investments in childcare, as well as the development of a new policy framework that will benefit sole traders and micro-businesses. We invite all think-tanks, organizations and companies to join us in advocacy activities! |
Childcare services are underdeveloped in BiH. Often inaccessible or unaffordable to parents, the capacities of childcare institutions - especially those in public sector - are limited, leaving many children outside of preschool education and care. MarketMakers is seeking to increase the number of childcare places available to working families by approaching large individual companies, or small clusters of medium-sized companies, to start their own kindergartens or day-care facilities for their employees' children. MarketMakers invites employers who want to open their own childcare facilities within the company, or enter into a service contract with private kindergartens to contact us! MarketMakers will partner with employers who wish to open their childcare facilities on-site or enter a service agreement with private kindergartens to expand their operations or organization that will engage in advocacy on the topic of employer-provided benefits for working families/parents. |
MarketMakers is working on the creation of an education and employment system for people with disabilities, who generally face discrimination and find it difficult to get a source of income. MarketMakers will support projects and programs that help address this issue. In the coming period, MarketMakers intends to further expand the number, diversity and availability of quality education adapted to people with disabilities. We want to work with new partners on the development and systematization of education and employment schemes in different parts of the country. Our partners Zepce Development Agency and Citizens' Association Nesto Vise in cooperation with Lilium Digital conducted a successful pilot training for people with disabilities in the field of digital marketing. You can help us by encouraging public institutions, organization working with people with disabilities, and companies interested in developing similar training and education offers in the field of IT sector or business services, to get in touch with our team! |
